Hello!

This is Priti, I am a sales and marketing manager.

I started hiking in July of 2017, and was totally surprised at how beautiful Kenya is. My first hike was to Kiima Kiu, known as “the Black Hill” and located almost 3 hours away from Nairobi towards Athi River.

I never knew there was such a beautiful landscape in that area and I am glad I was dragged by my aunt to join her on this hike. I had heard so much from her about how fun it was and how rewarding the views from the summit were that I decided to give it a try and she was correct.

My first hike will always be a special memory for me. I will never forget the feeling of getting to the top after all the difficulties that I encountered – the terrain, the weather, the distance. Looking down below from the summit made it all worth it.

After Kiima Kiu I immediately said yes to Mt. Kenya in August. This was another mind-blowing experience. I was so excited that I was going to be on top of Mt. Kenya – something I had only imagined in my wildest dreams. It was the most fun-filled experience of my life. The group I went with ended up becoming close and we cultivated a great friendship that came about going through the entire experience together.

What I really appreciate about hiking is that after a long and hard week at work, it brings a refreshing breeze into my life. There is a famous quote by Jaime Lyn Beatty which says and "jobs fill your pocket but adventures fill your soul".

It’s also a great way to keep yourself active on a Sunday.

One lesson that I would like to share with you from my hiking is that no matter what you go through during the hikes, the view is always amazing from the top. So never give up in life. The outcome will always be worth the struggles that you are facing today. Sometimes nature is all you need!
